Writing Expertise
Throughout my university and professional careers, I have had several opportunities to expand my knowledge and expertise in writing. The blogging internships I have held, along with my online magazine experience and Technical Writing expertise, have allowed me to learn how to write for varying audiences. I am interested in social media writing, advertising, and technical writing, which allow me to take these skills and write in a fun and inviting way for many topics.
As I entered the professional world as a Technical Writer and learned how to write release notes, user guides, installation guides, and more, this mix of experiences has taught me how to work in different environments and how to write for specific audiences. Additionally, I have project managed and trained a full Technical Writing team in order to maintain style consistency and version control.

Technology
As I have been a Technical Writer for the last several years, I have become well-versed in several documentation tools. For instance, as a blogger, I have taught myself how to use Weebly and WordPress to reach an array of audiences. As a lead Technical Writer, I have spearheaded research into several tools, such as MadCap Flare, in addition to using FrameMaker, RoboHelp, and Word on a daily basis. I am also extremely familiar with the Agile project management and utilize Git, Confluence, and JIRA, allowing me to maintain documentation and track the status of my work, as well as the work of my Technical Writing team.
Collaboration & Teamwork
As the lead Technical Writer at my current company, I am relied upon to train any new technical writers and continue to mentor and train current technical writers to maintain standards and productivity levels. I have been heavily involved in creating standards and templates, which we have used as a basis for all client-facing and internal documentation. I enjoy having conversations with other documentation specialists regarding even the smallest of decisions, such as whether or not to use a semi-colon. I lead meetings with Product Owners and Developers to learn more about the products I am writing about, allowing me to ask the write questions when drafting documentation. I instill these processes in any new technical writer that comes aboard.
Cognate Fields
I am extremely interested in both technical writing and social media writing, such as blogs for an advertising agency or a magazine. I find blogging and advertising through social media to be a fun getaway from daily life, yet I also enjoy the effectiveness of creating software technical writing documentation. I am quite passionate about what I do and truly enjoy writing, formatting, and editing to provide the best documentation possible to clients.
